US may reduce military participation in NATO structures — WP
The Washington Post, citing sources, reports that the U.S. plans to withdraw around 200 service members from approximately 30 NATO centers involved in planning and coordinating military and intelligence operations.
This includes, in particular, the NATO Intelligence Center in the U.K., the Special Operations Command in Brussels, and one of the commands in Portugal.
Official reasons have not been disclosed, but sources link the move to President Trump’s administration policy of reallocating resources to the Western Hemisphere. Meanwhile, Congress previously prohibited the Pentagon from reducing the overall number of U.S. troops in Europe below 76,000.🇺🇸US may reduce military participation in NATO structures — WP The Washington Post, citing sources, reports that the U.S. plans to withdraw around 200 service members from approximately 30 NATO centers involved in planning and coordinating military and intelligence operations.
