STORE.LIVERPOOLFC.COMMatchday Programme: LFC vs Brighton – Premier League – 13/12/2025The Reds return to Anfield on Saturday when they take on Brighton & Hove Albion in the Premier League. The matchday programme is the perfect souvenir for the clash with Fabian Hürzeler’s side.Inside, we hear from defender Joe Gomez, the latest member of Liverpool FC’s 250 Club, as he reflects on the team’s recent run and previous challenging times during his decade with the club. Winger Cody Gakpo also speaks candidly about the Reds’ results and explains why he is confident that the squad will turn their fortunes around. We have the pre-match insights of head coach Arne Slot and captain Virgil van Dijk in their exclusive columns and also get the views of ex-Reds defender Gary Gillespie. Prominent LFC journalist James Pearce discusses his new book telling the story of last season’s title triumph, while we also catch-up with writer Rhys Buchanan who reflects on a memorable midweek in Milan. We put the focus on a special piece of memorabilia 100 years after the signing of a Liverpool goalscoring great and celebrate the 45th anniversary of the Reds’ all-time leading marksman making his debut for the club. There is a round-up of the latest match action, an update from the Reds’ women’s and academy teams plus some teasers for younger supporters and a focus on goalkeeper Giorgi Mamardashvili. Our popular feature looking at stadiums at which Liverpool previously played naturally takes us to Brighton’s former home, the Goldstone Ground, we put the spotlight (well floodlights) on half-a-dozen great Anfield images and continue the story of Liverpool FC’s only Double-winning season to date, forty years on.0 Comments 0 Shares 602 Views 0 Reviews -

Arne Slot admitted he went against the advice of his performance staff regarding Florian Wirtz as the Liverpool playmaker starred in a 2-0 win over West Ham United. The Germany international had missed the last two games with an injury after returning from the break with an issue.
"Recently I’ve been asked a lot about individuals when maybe they’ve played a game not of their usual standards and I’ve pointed out the team every single time.
“After a very positive performance from Florian, I can acknowledge that but I also want to emphasise the team performance was much better.
“We tried to create an extra midfielder and he was very important for us to find that extra midfielder every time. He was good when he made a dribble, he was good with his one-touch passes, he played one ball to Cody which then doesn’t lead to a shot but we had many of those moments and he was part of many of them.
“Performance staff were constantly telling me ‘he needs to go out’ because he’d be out for one-and-a-half weeks and had only trained once, so to a certain extent it was maybe a bit of a risk to keep him in the team but some situations ask for an exception, and today was one of them."π΄ Arne Slot admitted he went against the advice of his performance staff regarding Florian Wirtz as the Liverpool playmaker starred in a 2-0 win over West Ham United. Florian Wirtz was assessed as Liverpool’s best player in the 2-0 victory at West Ham, with an unsung figure getting the second-highest rating.
Wirtz (8.03) delivered a hugely promising display, standing out as the best player on either side.
Ian Doyle of the Echo described the German as the “most creative player throughout,” praising the key part he played in Isak’s opener.
Jack McRae of GOAL said this was Wirtz’s “best performance in a Liverpool shirt” to date, with the 22-year-old thriving as a No. 10.
For Isak , it was huge to score his first Liverpool goal in the Premier League, but he will know that he needs to improve in his all-round game.
